We believe if we want to see change, we have to ‘bee’ the change. This means going beyond societal standards and aligning our apiculture and business practices to our values. Bee-centric beekeeping and small batch honey production are our strategies to the provide the best quality to our workers and our community. We love what we do and we do it with love, With Savage Love.
Our Values
Our values are not honey, or even bee, specific. We acknowledge the amazing work done by apiarists across Canada who set high standard for hive health and offer high quality, delicious honey. Our values aim to pursue all avenues that lead to providing products, resources, and education to all clients on how to increase health and wellness in their life. For us, we can do this through honey. Bees are an integral part of all ecosystems and agricultural practices, without their pollinating abilities for our food and vegetation would not last long. We understand we cannot live separately from our natural environment and reconnecting people to the planet starts with reconnecting to our food source. We not only offer quality honey, but we offer the experience and ease of mind to have healthy, sustainable products locally available.
Our mission is to offer local communities a new way to connect with life. Community engagement is at the heart of Calgary living, we see potential to contribute to these initiatives with the sweet, comforting taste of locally produced honey. By providing individuals with the knowledge and resources to become aware of the health and wellness opportunities throughout our community, we will act as a bridge into a mindful lifestyle. The first step is our local, flavoured honey. By partnering with local farmers, our beehives can thrive in ideal habitats to support local agriculture and yield wonderful bee made products. Honey is a natural sweetener and is not only a great alternative to refined sugar, but its sweet floral notes have many beneficial inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties. We want to offer an easy experience to enjoy simple, healthy alternatives for our diet, and ultimately our life.
Our Mission
Our Vision
Our vision extends beyond apiaries. We want to cultivate a space where healing with nature is within reach. Expanding our small collection of hives into a full scale apiary, growing organic blooms as a food source (for our busy bees) and a cut flower supply, creating areas for community engagement and group activities, and providing opportunity for holistic education are a few of the destinations along our path. Through the growth of our business, we plan to execute more charitable programs and initiatives to give back what our community has given to us. This ongoing process is the fuel that motivates us to do our best, and ‘bee’ our best.
Meet Our Team
Meet Jamie! Founder of With Savage Love and Certified Beekeeper. Jamie completed her BASc in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Environmental Engineering at the University of Ottawa in 2022, she has been working in the water treatment industry since moving to Calgary shortly after graduation. Environmentalism has always been a core value, being immersed in nature growing up granted her the appreciation to honour and protect the natural world. Her passion for flori- and apiculture (flowering crops & beekeeping) began through gardening in the summers with her mom, the health and beauty of caring for living beings is a reward like no other. Her mission when pursuing apiculture is to promote her values for personal and environmental health through positive community engagement and delicious honey. It is important to her that With Savage Love is a non-profit organization, the success of our business should be proportional to the success of our mission – environmental and social prosperity. The opportunity to pour her Love into beekeeping and connecting with our community has endless reward.
